A different theme...

mindset Feb 13, 2017

How's everyone doing out there?

I know that this time of year can carry a whole bag of emotions along with it.  2016 left us.... well it left us with a strong, yet joyful anticipation that 2017 would ring in a positive and more uplifting chime.

The calm after the holiday storm can be liberating and disappointing all at the same time.  The ideas around setting intentions/goals/resolutions can be inspiring as well as frustrating as hell.  Looking at the upcoming year from the top of the 12 month cliff can bring excitement along with fear.  Altogether, this season can be a tribulation of swirling triumphs and let downs.

So, what if we changed that year to year ritual and flipped the norm on its head?

What if the beginning of the year, or anytime in our lives for that matter, was a time to  throw all our cards in and stand for a different theme?

I have been a habitual goal setter and resolution maker for years now, and per usual have found myself falling sort of myself and my good intentions time and time again.

......

This year I want to travel more... but then we get pregnant and have to prepare for another baby.

This year I want to get a handle on managing our finances... but then I quit my job and suddenly become self employed.

This year I want to spend more quality time with my family... but then other obligations, long hard days, and bad moods get the best of all of us.

......

Sound familiar to anyone else?

The above protocol leaves us feeling less than our best, and many times like we have failed at some overlying predetermined plan.  Year after year, same story, same outcome.

Changing the theme:

Consider this... rather than marking our course determinate of external markers and accomplishments (buy a house, have a baby, make 6 digits, start exercising) ... what if we started basing our moments, hours, days, months and years on the way we want to feel.

"What will I do to feel the way I want to feel?"

Creating goals with some soul behind them.  Focusing inward vs. out.  Allowing ourselves to take the wheel of our lives back into our own hands, vs the world and circumstances around us.

This beautiful new way of thinking and creating a life around our core desired feelings has changed my life.  It has helped me to delve deep into my true inner thoughts and longings and start each day with those in the forefront of my mind.

I choose to feel....

PEACE - so I get myself up as many mornings as possible and mediate in the quiet while my family is sleeping.

COMMUNION - I joined a year long yoga therapy workshop with 7 other amazing women, to grow and learn together in a safe and inviting space.

FULLY ALIVE - so I chose to run and play in the backyard with my daughters rather than doing laundry and unloading the dishwasher.

ESSTENTIAL TRUTH - I chose to lean on the deep, real faith that I have known to be true my entire existence.

FEMININE ELEGANCE - I bought some sexy, yet comfortable, lingerie to snuggle in at night and have been wearing longer dresses with a nice 'swing' to them.  And of course I DANCE in them!

GROUNDED RADIANCE (my fav) - I schedule at least one yoga class per week and continue to work on my 'self talk' transitioning from negative to positive.  The power of positive thinking.

These are MY Core Desired Feelings.... they are now my beacon to the lightness and beauty of life.  To the Desire Map experience I am forever grateful for this transition.  From outward in.  Namaste.

Timeless Beauty.

To share how this process can create true everlasting change in your life, meet Tao Porchon - Lynch.  Her beautiful story has crossed my path multiple times in the last few weeks, and I don't take those signs lightly.
The power of positivity.

Tao Porchon-Lynch is the world's oldest yoga teacher, that of 75 years, and continues to teach, inspire and lead at the beautiful young age of 98.  The art of aging gracefully must truly be coined by this diamond, and she is charging the way ahead for young women and girls throughout her journey.

As her coined phrase signifies and breathes the essence of life,

"Anything is possible, nothing is impossible."

You  can't help but fall madly in love with this gentle spirit.

If she isn't doing backbends or headstands, she is writing books, leading workshops, charging forward for greater peace in the world, and shinging the beautiful light of her smile to the world.

I have been truly inspired by the story and courageous power of Tao and believe that her insight is exactly what we need in the world today.

"Know that the joy of living is right inside of you... believe in it."

She lives the different theme.

WE have the choice to choose happiness over despair. WE have the choice to make each day a beautiful one.  WE are responsible for ourselves.  Take that concept and enhance everything around you.

"When you wake up every morning, say this is going to be the best day of my life, and it will be."

Words of Widsom.

"I share what I know to be true.  I don't want to simply share thoughts from other people.  Within me I found and recognized the oneness (wholesomeness, unification) through nature.  That is the real power that governs the inner self."

Shine your true power forward from within and change your theme.  You have the power.

"Women have the power to nurture our world and inspire others to be fearless.  Like dawn wipes out the darkness of ignorance, women radiate the beauty of life."
