Finding yourself in a natural hypnotic state isn’t that uncommon.
In fact, it’s a pretty human experience!
For example, do you ever find yourself getting lost in a favorite book or while watching a good movie?
How about during meditation…a challenging yoga class..prayer..driving on “autopilot” when taking the same route every day… or getting lost in the pleasure of doing something you love?
You’re focused on something so intently that everything else seems to melt away, but you’re still maintaining your outer awareness.
That’s what it means to be in a hypnotic state!
Hypnosis is a powerful tool that uses suggestions to connect to your subconscious mind and remove emotional blocks to reprogram your thoughts, behaviors, actions and so much more. It’s a tool you can use to take your power back and take control of your subconscious thoughts, habits, and behaviors.
Now, your subconscious mind is working for you and toward who you want to be, do, have, and experience, rather than what you don’t.
Hypnosis is not a control tactic like it’s portrayed in movies, nor is it a magic trick. It isn’t getting people to do what you want them to do, their eyes becoming giant spinning spirals and walking like a zombie. It isn’t swinging a pocket watch or snapping people in and out of hypnotic states at whim with just a word or forcing them to do what you wish.
You are actually in control the entire time.
It isn’t just something done for entertainment but a very real tool that can be used to enhance your health and well-being.
It’s talking about the things that really need to be brought to light, and getting clear on what it is that our life is pushing us forward to achieve. It helps us go to the deep levels of our mind and our being so our entire system can be set up for radiance….the inner and outer world start to work together.
It’s reaching deep into the subconscious, addressing the underlying causes and beliefs of an issue, and creating a new story in its place.
Hypnosis speaks directly to the subconscious by bypassing our conscious mind to create a new reality (i.e. what you WANT). Since the subconscious mind controls over 95% of our daily lives, this makes hypnosis a powerful tool for change.
Hypnosis is a — very relaxed — waking state of awareness where your attention is focused on your inner experiences (your thoughts, emotions, and images in your head). It focuses all of your attention on your imagination and makes what is being imagined feel real.
Imagination always wins over willpower!
What would you like to change in your life? How do you want to act? How would you like to feel? What does your perfect day look like? Your ideal life?
At the beginning of a hypnosis session, you work together with your hypnotist to come up with exactly what this may look like. You’ll define the positive changes you’d like to make, and use your answers as suggestions during your session.
Then, while focusing on your hypnotist’s soothing voice, you start to take in those positive suggestions of change they are making to you.
Suggestions are given to you either verbally or using imagery that directs you to the feeling or state of being you want to achieve. These words and images help create that sense of relaxation, security, and well-being — or whatever it is you discussed wanting to feel before your session.
While you’re in this hypnotic state, the hypnotist will suggest ways you can accomplish these goals, or help you visualize vivid mental images of yourself achieving these goals.
By speaking directly to the subconscious mind and by applying these images and suggestions, you construct a new hypnotic reality in your mind. Your subconscious mind will begin to take note of this new reality, and start telling your subconscious mind to pay attention! It’s saying “this is how it’s going to be from now on”!
At the end of the session, once informed of its closure, you’re able to bring yourself out of this hypnotic state. Or better yet, your hypnotherapist will help gently guide you out of it so you can properly process this new reality.
Hypnosis is another fantastic tool that can be used for almost anything. Anything that’s hidden in the subconscious mind you’d like to change.
Here is just a short list of things hypnosis can be used for:
….and so much more. Hypnosis is an especially impressive tool because, for some people, it only takes one or two sessions to make lasting changes — and the effects the suggestions can have on your subconscious can last a lifetime.
After a few sessions, you may even be able to apply this technique to yourself! Learning to perform this technique on yourself allows you to get into this positive space whenever you need to. Every time you reinforce these powerful positive suggestions to your subconscious mind, the greater the effect it can have.
I’ve utilized hypnosis in my personal life to address deeply inset limiting beliefs around self-worth, money, confidence, and who I am able to be in this world. It is such a nourishing way to tap into the subconscious mind and gently insert new, uplifting and positive affirmations and thoughts. It helps create the picture in our minds that we want to see vs the default or auto pilot version.
As a Master Yes Supply Method Coach, I have been trained in the art of hypnosis which will allow us to walk this journey together. We work together by coming up with a plan for things you’d like to focus on or change in your life. We’ll come up with a list of suggestions to get you there, and I’ll guide you through your personalized hypnotic experience.
